Each environment is carefully prepared for the developmental needs of its age group, with mixed-age groups that foster natural mentorship and community.
Nido
3 months – 1.5 yearsA peaceful and carefully prepared environment where your little one is welcomed with warmth, respect, love and care. At this stage, development is extraordinary—movement unfolds, language begins, and trust in the world is formed. In the Nido, infants are free to move, explore, and develop at their own rhythm, supported by loving, AMI teachers who nurture both independence and secure attachment. Every detail is designed to foster confidence, coordination, and a sense of belonging from the very beginning.
- Freedom of movement in a safe environment
- Rich sensory exploration
- Language absorption through connection
- Secure attachment and continuity of care
Toddler Community
1.5 – 3 yearsA vibrant, nurturing space where the child's natural drive for independence comes to life. "Help me do it myself" becomes the guiding principle as toddlers engage in meaningful, real-life activities. Through purposeful work—washing, pouring, preparing food, caring for their environment—children develop coordination, concentration, and a deep sense of capability. Language flourishes, social awareness grows, and the foundations for independence are gently and respectfully laid.
- Practical life as the core of learning
- Explosive language development
- Order, repetition, and routine
- Emerging social awareness

Primary
3 – 6 yearsThe Primary environment is where independence, concentration, and a love of learning truly take root. In a mixed-age classroom, children choose their work freely, guided by their interests and supported by highly trained educators. With beautifully designed, hands-on materials, children move from concrete experiences to abstract understanding—whether in mathematics, language, or cultural studies. Here, learning is joyful, self-directed, and deeply meaningful.
- Uninterrupted work cycles fostering deep concentration
- Hands-on materials across all curriculum areas
- Mixed-age community encouraging peer learning
- Development of independence and responsibility

Elementary
6 – 9 yearsAt this stage, the child's imagination expands and a deep curiosity about the world emerges. The Elementary environment responds to this by offering a rich, interconnected curriculum that inspires exploration and reasoning. Guided by the Great Lessons, children begin to ask big questions—about the universe, humanity, and their place within it. They work collaboratively, carry out research, and take increasing ownership of their learning, developing both intellectual independence and a strong moral awareness.
- The Great Lessons as a foundation for all learning
- Research-based, interdisciplinary studies
- Collaboration and social development
- Expanding imagination and critical thinking
- Growing independence and responsibility

Bilingual Education
English & German — the right way
In our bilingual Montessori environment, children naturally absorb language through meaningful, everyday experiences. With both English- and German-speaking teachers, language is not taught in isolation but lived—through conversation, work, stories, and social interaction. From spoken language to emerging literacy, children are supported in developing expression, comprehension, reading, and writing in both languages at their own pace. This immersive approach nurtures confident communication, cultural awareness, and a deep, intuitive understanding of language.
“When learning the sounds of the alphabet one must pay attention to small details such as the letter 'e' and 'i' sounding different in English and German. While learning how to write you stick to one language first. Once they understand the concept, the second language follows naturally.”
English
Dedicated full-time English-speaking guides communicate exclusively with the children in English, providing consistent and high-quality language modeling while creating an immersive environment that supports natural bilingual development.
Deutsch
Dedicated full-time German-speaking guides communicate exclusively with the children in German, providing consistent and high-quality language modeling while creating an immersive environment that supports natural bilingual development.
