A Letter from Ms Callie

As Head of Pedagogy, I delight in witnessing your children's developmental transformations and breakthroughs. The work we do with the children is perpetually fascinating. Each day brings new adventure, laughter, opportunities to support, and renewed camaraderie.

It is an honour to help guide families during this sacred chapter of life. The early years lay the foundation for how children learn. Our dream is for them to be passionate pupils, global citizens, loyal friends and committed stewards of the environment. With those goals in mind, we foster an open dialogue fortified with mutual trust. Everything we do revolves around the children's welfare.

A Montessori Life

What I bring to the role is a variety of lenses through which to view the benefits of a Montessori education. As an alumna of the Montessori approach myself, I can attest to its long-term value. As a parent of four children who have all graduated from Montessori schools, I also know firsthand how much it shapes one's ability to think critically, to collaborate in a group setting, and to enhance one's creativity.

Additionally, I have been teaching in international and bilingual / multilingual schools in some capacity since I was university aged. The bonds I have forged with former students and their families last a lifetime; their successes are shared sources of pride. Multilingualism is not just something I agree with in general; it is something I live by as I understand English, Spanish, Russian, French, Dutch, German and more.

The Journey to Serendipity

My higher education was in Early Childhood Education, French, and Linguistics, and I have lived in the United States, Canada, France, the Netherlands, and Switzerland — pursuing degrees, deepening my professional path, and nurturing my growing family along the way.

I met Ms Zoe in 2011 in California, where we studied together and have been close friends since then. When Serendipity Montessori was founded, Katharina and Ms Zoe called me personally and invited me to join them in Zurich. With full hearts and a sense of adventure, my husband and children and I moved across the globe to be here at Serendipity.

Why Serendipity

Serendipity Montessori is a school I wanted to help shape and be part of, a school rooted in respect for the child, a deep belief in independence and intrinsic motivation, a love of nature, and a commitment to nurturing the whole human being — academically, socially, and emotionally. It is a place where childhood is honored, curiosity is protected, and learning is guided with intention and warmth.

Credentials & Training

My Association Montessori Internationale diplomas are for ages 0–6, with additional coursework for ages 6–12, allowing me to support children across the foundational and elementary years with continuity and depth.

Here is what I believe: the more one learns, the more one realises there is more left to learn. I have completed training to support students with special needs and neurodiversity and became an instructor to support the redirecting of children's behaviour.

Leading with Heart

The past several years have enabled me to be more involved with the leadership side of a school, and that brings me great joy as it unites parents and teachers, advocates for all parties, and underscores what is important to us all: the children.

They are the keys to a better tomorrow. Each song we sing together, each excursion we go on, each time we connect the curriculum inside the walls of the classroom with adventures outside — these are all striking opportunities to help learning come alive. By stimulating all of the senses and also activating the heart we can make school feel relevant, memorable, and meaningful.

Helping you is a thrill, and I look forward to our conversations!

With warmest regards,

Ms Callie
